The Ogden Pioneer Days and the Eccles Art Center’s Main Galleries will exhibit western-themed artists during the Ogden Pioneer Days’ “Traces of the West” art show. This invitational art competition will open Friday, July 5 and run throughout the month. A reception for artists and the public will be held in conjunction with Ogden’s Art Stroll on Friday, July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Awards will be posted at this reception. The Ogden Pioneer Days-Traces of the West is made up of recent works with a western theme. This year’s categories are two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. The two-dimensional category will include drawing and painting, with the three-dimensional category including sculpture and high-end western gear. Local artists throughout Utah, as well as those from Arizona and Idaho, are participating. The Eccles Community Arts Center’s regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center is closed Sundays and major holidays, including July Fourth and the July 24 Pioneer Day.
