Ogden Pioneer Days Events Cancelled Due to Pandemic Concerns

(KUTV) — The Ogden Pioneer Days Celebration and Rodeo–an 86-year-old tradition–has been canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers for the event made the announcement on Tuesday, after continuously consulting with state, local and health department officials.

In May, organizers told 2News the Ogden Pioneer Days parade was unlikely to happen and the Miss Rodeo Utah Pageant was already called off.

Now, all of the following events have been canceled:

Organizers say they “working jointly with the mayor and city officials, feel strongly as a group that applying an abundance of caution this year is the right choice.”

They hope to resume Ogden Pioneer Days celebrations in 2021, according to a statement from the committee.
