What began as a small three-day event in 1934 has since grown into one of the premier celebrations in Utah and the Intermountain West. Ogden Pioneer Days has traditionally included one of Utah's largest parades and rodeos but in 2008 our Ogden Pioneer Days Committee is unveiling a new addition to our celebration: The Trail to Pioneer Days. This will be one of Utah's largest art extravaganzas which will include 24 life size fiberglass running horses and 24 table-top size replicas. Each horse will be sponsored by Ogden's most committed and respected individuals or businesses and designed by our areas most talented artists.

The west was built on the back of its horses, on the spirit of its cowboys, and on the character of its pioneers and it is now that we want to celebrate "out loud" not only our cowboys, but ranching, rodeo and our western lifestyle! It is our opportunity and our time in our city's history to create an art trail of horses, an event, and a tradition that will be celebrated by not only our generation but generations to come.
