American Cowboy magazine launched the National Day of the American Cowboy campaign during 2004 and received an outpouring of support from throughout the country. The United States Senate passed a resolution in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 designating the fourth Saturday in July as “National Day of the American Cowboy.” The day is designed to honor ranchers, working cowboys and cowgirls, rodeo athletes, Western musicians and artists, cowboy poets, and others who contribute to the Western culture in America.

On Saturday July 20, 29 cowboys and cowgirls from every county in the state of Utah will take center stage at the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo to be honored for their outstanding contribution to the preservation of Utah's cowboy culture for future generations. Do you know a Utahn who deserves to be honored? Submit his or her name today to the Ogden Pioneer Days Heritage Foundation and rodeo committee.
